Poe (Flashey Dresser): 10/29 - Tired after meeting a new friend.

Yawn! Gosh, am I ever tired. I went to meet a new doggie friend today! His name is Stormy, and he's a medium to large doggie (Uncle Chris says he's a wirehaired Griffon), and we sniffed each other, and then we ran around together (muzzled, of course), and then we had a couple of treats, and then it was time to go home.

Uncle Chris tried to get a good picture of us playing, but he's not very good with the camera - so you're stuck with what I'm doing now that I'm home:

Sleeping!!

I'm so sleepy, I need a nap!

That was such a fun and exciting adventure! Hopefully I get to see my new pal again soon.

*Bonus Photo*

I love being close to my Foster People!

The other night I wanted to be super close to Auntie Kate, who was on the couch. But gosh, I'm not allowed on the furniture as a foster dog, so I got as close as I could - as you can see above!

Okay, that's it for today - but don't forget to make sure to have all of your application stuff filled out correctly in case we're a match. Maybe your couch is next!

Love and Nose Bumps,
Poe

Goldi (CG's Goldiluck): 10/29 - Pets on pets on pets

Oh hai! Didn't see you there at first.

How's it going?

I will have you know that I ignored FoMo for three minutes yesterday after she defamed my character by insinuating that I was asleep on the job. The nerve. I only look like I'm sleeping, it's a disguise. I am always alert for the sound of snacks or the movement of FoMo getting up from her desk (in case she's going to get snacks). I am a big believer in one of the cardinal Greyhound rules: You never snack alone.

I've been exploring more to find new things to stash in the crate. FoMo says I remind her of "Ariel," whoever that is, gathering up whatzits and thingamabobs.

I guess she wanted to watch Animal Planet.

Aside from my burgeoning collection of trinkets, I've gotten good at collecting pets in the house! I don't really want to sit or sleep with you - I would really prefer to be left alone on my bed - but if it's been too long since you gave me scritches, I will be sure to let you know. A dog needs a certain amount every day, you know?

POV: You are relaxing on the couch when Goldi realizes it's pets o'clock and comes to collect her due.

I'll walk right up to you and gently nudge you to remind you to use your hands as they were intended: to rub my ears and scratch my back. I'll stay right there with you until alllllllll my itches are scratched and I've gotten your love, and then I'll head back to my bed to bask in that warmth and nap until pets o'clock comes around again.

In the neighborhood, I like to study people a little bit before I go up to them. I need to evaluate whether they look like a Good Dog Petter, and if so, what side to approach. Sometimes I'm not into it. It's nothing personal - they're certainly welcome to worship from afar!

A good development in the petting/worshipping department: FoMo has been doing stretches with my right leg and toes. It feels weird to me, but I'll allow it. It comes with lots of other pets and scratches, too! This was me last night after my evening massage. I gave it a good stretch and roach and then rolled over and drifted off.

I envy this degree of relaxation.

Goldi (CG's Goldiluck): 10/27 - Well Hello There!

 Henlo frens!

My name is Goldiluck, but please, call me Goldi. I've been staying with FoMo for a week now, and I gotta say, humans continue to be GREAT. FoMo has been saying my name and then giving me food a lot, which is the best deal ever. All I have to do is look at her. (Don't tell her I think this game is easy!!) I've gotten to meet the mail man and a whole bunch of people on our walks and they give me all the scritches I could ever want. I visited FoMo's mom (lots of pets, again, of course) and then one of her neighbors came out to meet me because I just looked so cute! Seriously, no one can resist me. Getting pets is my super power!

In the house, when I get excited, I smile. If you haven't been blessed by a smiling greyhound yet, FoMo says this is a good example. Kestral the Smiling Greyhound I mean you no harm, it's just that I show my enthusiasm on a scale of 0 - Infinity Teefs. FoMo says I'm even cuter than Kestral - I scrunch my snoot up and then snort a bunch, and I try to get close to you so that you understand just how happy I am. Meanwhile, my back end is wagging and I'm trying to stare up into your face to will you into petting me forever.  I'm a happy-go-lucky pup; I might smile at you when you bring my dinner, when you uncrate me for a walk, when you walk away from your desk and therefore have two hands that for some reason are not petting me, and even when you come back from the bathroom.

I like being around people, and I sometimes bark when I'm alone. I have also been known to bark if you're just not paying attention to me. Uh hello, this adorable pup can't ear scritch herself! FoMo assures me that I can learn to relax and enjoy the quiet. Speaking of quiet time, I love my crate! I get all my meals in there, and FoMo lets me rest in the crate after I try/experience something new. It's so nice to get to just lie down and think about it. Plus FoSis can't snoop on me! And of course, no dwelling is complete without décor! I've been picking up FoSis's stuffies and bringing them to whatever bed I'm in. I have a whole stash in the crate, and one or two more around each of the other beds I frequent. Here's me showing off the collection and welcoming you to my humble abode.

FoMo calls this my hoard. I share it with her, obviously. Sometimes she takes things from my pile - I know she's just grateful I found that treasure for her!
(FoMo here: she picked up my glasses from my nightstand, and gave them back without fuss. Later, she snuck back in and snagged my sleeping mask. I found her sleeping on top of it in the crate😂 She has also picked up a stick of deodorant, a set of plastic utensils, and a roll of vet wrap. I've had no problems taking the not-toy items from her or from the crate, but she is so sneaky about rooting around in the home and finding things that she can pick up. And you may find things on the floor that she tried to take but couldn't grab successfully...she dropped my glasses case on FoSis one morning, haha.)

I choose to go hang out in the crate in the evenings sometimes, or during the day while FoMo is working (AKA using her hands to "type" instead of petting me. How rude!). So many fuzzy blankets to roll around in! And once, FoMo made a huge noise in the kitchen (I dropped the silverware basket from the dishwasher) and I went straight to the crate to hang out until the coast was clear.

As you can see, it's a ruff life. FoMo said I couldn't eat the food on her plate. Fine. I'll just go  snore  suffer over here! And of course I took a stuffy with me to keep me company in exile. "You already had dinner." pffft. I'll show her.

Here I am during happier times, napping and roaching with some stuffy friends. 💕

Time for me to get back to supervising FoMo's work day - talk to you again soon!

..................................................

(Is Goldi working hard, or hardly working?  She's a very forgiving supervisor, at least!
Aside from her strong nap game and her pilfered stuffy friend, you can see the repair from her broken leg on the right hind. It's healed beautifully and was a really fantastic repair. There's no pain and she's fine with you handling it. On the left hind, you'll see a bandage where she jumped down the stairs last night trying to get a squirrel. Just a scrape, but she kept licking it, so bandage it is. Eager as always for walks today!
She also carries the gene for Bald Thigh Syndrome. Play your cards right and she might win you a Barest (dog) Butt contest someday!)

Wilbur (Keyboard Warrior) : 10/27 - Sunbeams

Food Lady says it’s gonna rain, so I need to soak up all of the sunbeams while they’re still here!

Wilbur (Keyboard Warrior): 10/26 - I Halp!

 Hey, watcha doin’ Food Lady?

I’m doing dishes, Wilbur.

Ok, I halp!!

Alright, thanks pal…

Whatcha doin’ Food Lady?
Getting out some cheese.
Ok, I halp!!!
Sure, buddy boy; some for Azor and Inky, too.
Check out our website if you need a “halper” in your life!

Lucky (Mad Luck): 10/24 - Yard Fun

Today I was in the yard enjoying some sunshine.  I'm learning what balls are and learning to roach. I love rolling in the grass.
It was a beautiful day.

Poe (Flashey Dresser): 10/22 - Poe Says, "SQUEAK!"

Hi again, everyone! It's me, Poe, here to tell you about a fantastic toy I found in the toy basket here at Uncle Chris's house - it's the Kong Wubba Pal. And? It. Is. Awesome.

Allow me to demonstrate...

Pretty good stuff, right? Maybe if we were family we could all squeak together? Just saying.

Okay, see you later!

Love and Nose Bumps,

Poe

Reva (SNL Flamin Fire): 10/20 - Greetings!

Hey everyone! It's Reva! I just wanted to stop by and share my awesomeness!

I'm cute and curious,  as you can see. I also have the cutest ears, or so I've been told. Sometimes they go in different directions, sometimes they go to one side, and sometimes they go straight up. I think it makes me even more adorable,  if that is possible.

I'm off to cuddle with FoMa.  TTYL!

Rusty (Rusty Nail): 10/19 - Personal Space

Hello friends!
Morning post-breaky, cozy time is so relaxing. As long as I am near my humans and my foster siblings, I am a happy boy.

Be warned though, my handsome self is always ready for a close-up snuggle.

Here I come!

Much better!

Lucky (Mad Luck): 10/18 - I Love Retirement

Hi, I'm Lucky!  I'm new to this life and I've already started to enjoy this.  I've found dog beds to be super comfy,  I love my foster parents and greyhound cousins and just learning to ropes of retirement life. I'm getting used to the stairs and learning to wait to go out like my greyhound cousins.
This new life is going to be such fun!

Poe (Flashey Dresser): 10/16 - I Love Stuffed Toys!

Hi again everybody! It is I, your pal Poe, and I have something important to share with you today!

I absolutely LOVE stuffies! I like them that squeak, I like it when they squawk, and even when they honk - but you know what I like best about them?

Cuddling!

Oh, so you think this is cute? Me and Monkey spending quality time together?

You're positive it's cute?

What about if we're cuddling like this?

What if we switch from the living room to Auntie Kate's office and I cuddle with the fox stuffie? There are real foxes that live in Uncle Chris's neighborhood and I got to see one on a walk the other night - It was super cool!

"Mmph! Help, this is too much love!" ~ Mr. Fox

Cuddling like this makes us all happy...

How about a quick pupdate to go along with cute picutures?
  • I've totally mastered the DOWN command! Still working on SIT, and STAY will come later.
  • I've got excellent signals for "I have to go out to potty"
  • I'm a great office mate to Auntie Kate and a good helper to Uncle Chris during the day.
  • And I'm doing good on my alone training - I went 2 hours all by myself the other day without issue!
Okay, just wanted to check in with you. Don't forget, if you'd like to meet me? Make sure you've got all your application stuff filled out and maybe we'll be a good match! That would be super fun.

Falling asleep on my blankie as I type...

Love and lots of Nose Bumps,
Poe

Poe (Flashey Dresser): 10/9 - New Digs!

Well hello there! It is I, Poe, here to let you know I'm staying with my new pal, Uncle Chris. Have you seen my cuteness lately? Why don't we have a little look?

Here I am being cute while eating my dinner!

Did you know I'm a silly puppy-head? I love to play with toys, especially squeaky and honky toys!

Uncle Chris says I'm going to learn all sorts of stuff while I'm here. I'm pretty excited about that. I've only been here a few days and I've already almost mastered the DOWN command. We use it when I eat my meals or get my treats. Next up is SIT, which is more difficult - but I've got a head start on it. See, I've done it before, so I'll learn it quick.

What's that? You want more pictures? Well okay!

This one is of me on my first day here relaxing a little.

ZZzzZZZzz...

I'm also an excellent office mate! Do you have a home office that we could hang out in?

This bed in Auntie Kate's office is pretty comfy!

Last one shows you how much I love people. I'm a pretty big fan of Uncle Chris already. I also love every stranger I meet on the street on my walks 😁

We're buddies.

So keep an eye out for more updates as I work on my skills, okay? And I'll make sure UC keeps getting good pictures of me.

Oh, and if you want to meet my infinite cuteness? Fill out an adoption application and maybe it will be a match. Since I love people so much, that would be super fun!

Okay, time for me to go now. I need a nap.

Love and chin kisses,
Poe
