Coach: 9/29 - I'm ready!

Is it time yet ... is it time yet?

C'mon!  How much longer do I have to wait?

I reallllyyyyy can't wait for a new adventure!

Coach - 9/28/17 - Shhhhh ....

.... I'm dreaming of my new family.

My dream is telling me I'll be finding it soon.

"Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
~Lilo and Stitch

Coach: 9/26 - A quick hello

Just wanted everyone to remember I'm available for adoption :)
I'm looking forward to still meeting lots of people!
(and hopefully going home with my new family soon)

By the way - did I tell you I get along with everyone?
I really don't mind sharing "my" bed at all.
Matter of fact, I was here first and had no problem at all having Ms. Roo join me!

Like I said - just a quick hello - see you soon!

Coach - 9/25/17 - Most Awesome Weekend!

I'm so excited to tell you all about my weekend!
It started with the boy's game where they kick a ball back and forth on a field.
Here we are getting ready to go:

Notice I was laying down and ready before she even got her seat belt on?
That's because I've figured out it's easier to
just lay down rather than trying to stand for the ride.

Then it was off to a Fall Festival at Marshy Point Nature Center.
I got to see all kinds of things and people!  Soooo much petting - I loved it!
Here's one of the creatures I met:
Can you tell I'm in retirement?  The tortoise beat me by a nose.
(That rarely happened in my racing days - I was a great runner!!)

 And then look at this ginormous thing:
I wasn't even afraid of him at all!
(Of course, he didn't move much)

 Next up was some make-believe with the mom's niece
(she's 6 yrs old and I love her)
Check out those steps I went up ... and you could see right through them.
No big deal though - I'm great at steps!

Of course, we had some chill time just laying around together.

 Even some silly time too:
I'm such a good sport - the kids love me and I love when they play silly things with me.
 I'm just so patient!

And then it was back home we go; I took up my favorite position.

Boy was I exhausted when I got home though!
We were on that adventure for almost 4 hours!
I know I could do it again -
I just love being outside seeing new things!
And I especially loved hearing a couple people say
they just might be filling out an application!

Coach, 9/21/17 - The Adventures of ...

ME!
So, have been doing a lot of reflecting as you can see here:
It's a lot of work to stay this cute and I want to make sure my warm personality shines through, so I let the sun sink in for a while ("I got that Sunshine in my pocket")

But I'm still out and about too - love my walks
especially when we do the ones in the trees!

Please can we come in for dinner?
(I'm a great eater and so smart about going straight to kennel I
eat in as soon as I see the food coming!)

Oh and by-the-way, I'm pretty dang good at the laying around
and just wanting to snuggle adventure of retirement too ;)

Coach - 9/21/17 - Had to share this

Remember when I said how active this place can be?  Do you see what I'm talking about?

And do you see me?  I'm just taking laying here watching the crazys - lol!
Yup, it's my retirement time and right then, it was my "chill time" - I take that very seriously!

Coach - 9/18/17 - Still Here!

I got to meet new families this past weekend but didn't get to go home with anyone - I know my people are out there, so I'll wait patiently!  Meanwhile, I'm going to keep enjoying this retirement adventure!

I mentioned that I enjoy late evening walks and check out what happened on this one!  The humans' cat came outside after us .... and then he just kept following us!  I think he was afraid we'd get lost.

It was the weirdest thing!
So then we started trying to follow him and he would just lay on the ground and I thought it was quite boring.

And then we went in for some late-night snuggles.
 (She says she usually doesn't like posting pics of herself but can't resist showing off how much a love being dolled all over!

As long as she keeps hugging and cuddling, I don't care how many pictures she wants to take.
I just hope she gets my good side (Oh wait ... all my sides are good!)

So, I'll be back soon with some more updates of my retirement adventure!

Coach 9/14/17 - Enjoys Late Night Walks

ISO Human(s) who will:
 Spoil me rotten;
Appreciate my daintiness;
Offer endless smiles at my utterly irresistible cuteness;

Give lots of hugs, snuggles and petting (especially right under my collar);
Provide special delicious treats
(but skips the peanut butter, I have no interest in that messy-sticky stuff);

And enjoy long walks on a brisk night or a nice hike on a sunny day.

If this sounds like you, please contact:
Greyt Expectations Greyhound Rescue and let's meet up sometime soon!
Love,
Coach

Coach 9/11/17 (Seriously Awesomeness)

Hi again!!!
Life is AMAZING!  And this retirement thing is soooo cool.  There is so much to see and so much to do - how can anyone stop exploring???  I'm loving every second of this new adventure; although, I will admit, I'm sometimes a little cautious at first to make sure all is safe.  After my sleep-over with the super nice family (and my first crush, Reese) I drove to another house (ok, I didn't drive but how much fun would that be if I could?)

I am the perfect traveling buddy!  I laid down the entire +1hr drive and when we finally stopped I was so excited to check out where we were.

And look where my first stop was - the toy store!!  Wahoo - I scored!  There was soooo much to look it, I was a little overwhelmed but it didn't stop me from wanting to explore everything!

After that, it was another short trip to the next house. They said that this is where I will stay until I find my furever family which is fine with me because I just love all these new experiences.  I am very curious!  And there's sooooo much at this house ... cats and kids and steps and other dogs and even another greyhound.  I settled in great after figuring out the high energy at this house.  It's just so cool -everyone here is just as happy as me!  Don't let my initial cautiousness think I'm boring because I am a super-happy-looking-for-fun type of girl :)

Life is seriously awesome!  Stay tuned for my next adventure - maybe soon we can start having lots of adventures together!

Coach

Hi my name is Coach. I have had an eventful 24 hours of something I'm told is called retirement. So far it’s been pretty amazing.  I had a long drive with a bunch of my greyhound friends and ended up in a place called Greyhound Central where I had a nice meal and then a SPA treatment. I had a warm bath, my ears cleaned, a towel massage, and my nails done. I felt so pampered! Let me tell you that felt very good after traveling. I then took another ride to go meet a nice family that was going to help foster me.  I met two greyhound boys that live there named Reese and Kipper and then the rest of the family. There are two big boys called teens and the mom and dad. The big teen had two friends come over last night but I was happy and interested to meet everyone. I was pretty tuckered out from my big day so I found the beds and took some naps. The mom said I am super sweet, called me a dainty girl, and told me that Kipper seems to have a crush on me. Who wouldn't? I am pretty fabulous.  Check out my pics!
