Timpe: 7/4 - Good manners

I've been learning good manners since I retired.  I've learned that when foster mom says "wait", I'm to stand still until she tells me it's ok to move. She has me wait at doors and for my food.  She told me that it's safer for both of us if I don't bolt outdoors or try to start eating before my dish hits the floor. Here's a video link to show you how well I've learned to wait.

Timpe: 6/28 - Outing

On Saturday, foster mom and dad took the resident greyhound and I back to the flea market.  Foster mom said I showed a lot of improvement on this outing.  I didn't hesitate at all while we walked through the busy stalls.  Plus when I saw the chickens, I was very interested but I was willing to walk away when foster mom said it was time to go.

Sunday, we just lazed around.  I'm really good at that.  But on Monday, it was time for foster mom to go back to work. I didn't want her to go so I gave her my best eyes to show her how much I wanted her to stay.  How can you say no to these eyes?

Timpe: 6/20 - Speaks her mind

I'm very good at letting you know when I'm happy or need something.  I just "roo".  Foster mom's been trying to catch me "rooing" on video for a while, but either she's too late or the resident terrier jumps in and speaks over me.  She was able to catch me today when we were getting ready to go for a walk.  I was very excited and was trying to tell her to hurry up, but instead she grabbed her phone and took video instead. Here's the link to hear me speak.

Foster mom threw in a few extra pictures too just so you could see what a nice profile I have.

Timpe: 6/14 - I'm a people dog

One of the things I love most (aside from food) is people.  I love people! Big people and little people. When I first meet people, I'm happy to just let you pet me and get to know me. But once I get to know you, I will smother you with kisses!

Timpe: 6/7 - Little humans

Sunday was pretty exciting. Foster mom's daughter came over with the gang - two beagles and a little human.  I wasn't interested in the beagles at all.  I was all about the little human.  I wanted to sniff him and give him endless kisses. Foster mom said I had to wear my muzzle, which only got in the way of giving him kisses.  But after I showed her that I was all about the love, she took it off and I got to get up close.

Then the little human was put in the highchair.  All the other dogs crowded around.  I didn't know why, but then I saw that the little human was dropping food to everyone!  I made sure that I got in close for that one.

Afterwards we all went into the living room.  The little human crawled all over the beagles. They didn't seem to mind it a bit.  I wasn't too sure about that so I laid down next to foster mom.  When the little human came over to me, foster mom made sure that he petted me nice and didn't pull my ears.    Eventually, I laid down on the bed and one of the beagles joined me.

Foster mom tells me there's an adoption event this weekend.  I'm really excited about it.  After watching the little human and his beagles, I think it would be awesome to have my own family to play with and go on walks with.  If you are coming this weekend, I'd love to meet you and tell you all about myself and how I'd make a great addition to your family.

Timpe: 5/30 - Lazy long weekend

My first Memorial Day retired.  Foster mom didn't have to work for three days so that meant more time taking walks and lounging around.  Foster mom said I'm just getting better and better on walks.  I'm also learning the word, "Wait."  Foster mom says it when she puts my food down and when she opens the backdoor.  I'm learning that it means I should just stay where I am until she gives me the ok to move.  Here's pictures of me lounging all weekend.
I really liked laying down in the grass.

Even though foster mom thought this was funny, it was pretty comfortable.

I do a good dead bug impression.

The resident greyhound shared her bed with me.

Sometimes I just hung out in my crate and slept.

I found another comfortable place in the grass.

TB’S Timpe: 5/23 - field trip

Foster mom took me to the flea market on Saturday. It was loud and crowded and I was a little unsure at first, but my foster sister came along and showed me it was a great place full of great smells and more people to pet you. When people found out I used to race, they had a lot of questions about retirement. I loved all the attention. On our way back to the car, we saw a blues band playing.
We stopped and listened for a while. Then it was back home for an afternoon nap.

Timpe: 5/17 - Enjoying Retirement!

Timpe checking in. I’ve been retired for about six weeks now and I’m enjoying retirement. I spend most of my day lounging with the resident greyhound and terrier. They’ve been showing me the ropes. The terrier has been sharing her toys with me. I sure love toys.

Every night when my foster mom gets home from work, everyone gets to go for a walk. I really look forward to that. There are ducks on our walk that really interest me, but foster mom told me that I’m not a retriever, I’m a sight hound and should just ignore them.

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back to tell you more soon.

Timpe: 4/18

Hi!!  I'm Timpe!!  And I'm a silly, sweet, fun, good good girl!!  I've figured out this thing called retirement pretty well.  I've figured out stairs, and potty breaks, and treats, and FOOD!!  I LOVE FOOD!!!!  Foster mom says I'm a rooer.  I'm not sure what that is, but I'm only telling her how excited I am to see her, or how hungry I am, or about how unfair it is that I'm not allowed to chase my little dog foster sister around.  Foster mom even roo's back!!  .....I think I've trained her well!!

I love toys too!!!  I take them out of the toy box, and then I stash them in my own secret place so that no one else gets them.  You see, I have 3 foster sisters!!  I think Foster Mom has found my hiding place though, cause the toys keep ending up back in the toy box!!

I love a nice cozy bed......or a pillow for my head......

Or your blanket!!!  I'm learning how to snuggle also!!!  Those are Foster Mom's legs under that blanket, I gotta keep them warm you know!!

Foster mom says that I'm going to make some family very lucky!!  Could that lucky family be your family??  You'll have to put in an app and meet me to find out.
