Shaelee: 12/16 - so much cuteness

Hi, everyone! FM has been busy this week which meant I was busy too. Following her around and making sure she doesn't need help is a full-time job when she's on a roll.

She was in the kitchen making venison meatballs the other night. Olive and I really wanted to help taste test them, but she wouldn't let us. We even showed her our wagging tails and cutest faces. #NotNiceFM #SharingIsCaring

The next day, FM had company and had to move our beds upstairs for the afternoon. When she let us come down, there was nowhere for me to lay. Everyone laughed at me, but I'm not sure why. I was using my sad puppy dog eyes on her. #ItDidntWork

Until next time!

Shaelee: 12/13 - please FM

Please FM!  Why can't we have some of that yummy food you're preparing?

How are you able to resist the sweet faces?

Oh well.  Maybe we can convince her the next time she's in the kitchen.

Shaelee: 12/11 - busy weekend

Hi everyone!  I had a busy weekend, and FM said we needed to make sure we told you all about it.  Here goes!

Saturday - There was an adoptathon at GHC, and I went along with 3 other pups.  My furever family wasn't there so I'm back home with FM.  I heard she makes homemade dog biscuits as treats for the pups at Christmas so I'm okay with spending the holidays here.  Afterward, FM took me to Lowe's where I got to see all these new things I'd never seen before.  I loved exploring and checking everything out.

Sunday - I went to St. Mary's College with Olive and Charger, and had puppy playtime with all of the students there.  There were 4 rescues there to help the students destress before finals and learn about pet ownership and the benefits of pet rescue.

Selfies with the students.

Tux and I were checking out the Golden Retriever Rescue.

Hanging out getting some more love.

There's nothing better than good belly scratches.

Olive and I were tired after so much attention.

I think she's the best napping companion.

Olive, OJ, and me getting some attention from our parents.

How many greyhounds can you spot?  Let's see (from front to back) there's Lola, Griff, Charger, me, AJ, and Tux.

It's been a busy weekend, but I had a lot of fun.  I spent all afternoon and this evening napping.  Being a social butterfly is tiring work.  Until next time!

Shaelee: 11/30 - closeups

While FM was away, my pup-sitter took some pictures of me.  Check out my cuteness!  You'll be glad to know that I'm as soft as I look.  :)

Shaelee: 11/28 - back home with FM

Hey everyone! We're all back home from vacation, and FM handed out treats once we were settled.  I was so excited to see her that I showed off my chatters which turned into gator chomps.  She was a little slow though, and I was done chomping by the time she turned on the camera.

In case anyone needs another reason to fall in love with me, I hope this helps.  FM said I'm just absolutely adorable.

Shaelee: 11/26 - vacation

Vacations mean that I get extra special treats from my pup-sitter.

I think I'm going to want to come back here and visit again.

Shaelee: 11/24 - Thanksgiving

Hi everyone!  FM is out of town, and I get to spend a few days with my friends Tux and Candy.  Since today is Thanksgiving, their mom shared some turkey with all of us.  It was yummy!  I hope that maybe I'll get to have some leftovers tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Shaelee: 11/17 - sharing

Check me out.  FM caught Olive and me sharing a dog bed.  Well kind of.  Maybe one day she'll let me up there beside her.  Know what's even better than that?  I'll have my own bed at my furever family's home one day.

Shaelee: 11/16 - Maryland Irish Festival Meet and Greet

Hey everyone!  I had a busy weekend, and then FM was busy with work, and oh no it's Wednesday and she didn't tell you what we did on Sunday!  I know my furever family has been waiting on a blog post so I asked her to get to it!  Please.  With my cutest face.  She can't resist it.  :)

Sunday I went with Olive to the Maryland Irish Festival!  GEGR was there all weekend and lots of greyhounds from our group came to show everyone what good family members we are.

Are we there yet?  Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
It was a long card ride, and I was more interested in watching where we were going.

That's me, Jack, and Olive in the xpen with Jack's dad.

What's all that music?  I've never heard it before.

My furver family might be here.  I just have to keep looking for them!

Ike's mom and sister took me out to walk through the halls.  I showed everyone how adorable I am and even collected donations for our group.

Meeting so many new people is tiring so toward the end of our afternoon, I finally laid down.

I had a great afternoon and got to see so many new things.  I love exploring, and can't wait to go out again!

Shaelee: 11/10 - pjs

It's been cold off and on, and FM has been covering me with a blanket or letting me snuggle down in the comforter. Last night she decided to try pjs. I don't know if I'm a fan of these.

I checked myself out in the mirror. #DoesThisColorLookGoodOnMe

Fine. I'll see how these work for sleeping in.

The things my FM does to me. Will my furever family do this too?

xX Shaelee Xx

Shaelee: 11/9 - We have a roach!

Imagine FM's delight when she saw all of this cuteness.

What can I help you with?

Don't mind my tongue.  Is it too late for #TongueOutTuesday?

Sometimes a girl has to scratch her back.

I'm here to entertain, and I'm ready to show my new skills to my furever family!

xX Shaelee Xx

Shaelee: 11/8 - gator chomps

Hey everyone.  I showed FM my new trick...gator chomps AKA as chattering.  Mine were really loud so we renamed them.

FM wanted to make sure everyone knows that she normally doesn't allow the dogs to be fed from the table.  Tonight though, my chomps were too adorable to pass up.  When it's dinner time, I've learned that I can't beg, and I have to go lay down.

Shaelee: 11/7 - naptime

So if I haven't mentioned it before, FM has the best toys for us pups.  See this Lamb Chop does two things!  First, it's a toy that I toss around and chew on.  Then when I'm done, it makes a greyt pillow when I rest after playing.

I hope maybe my furever family will get a Lamp Chop for me.  Goodnight!

Shaelee: 11/6 - Look at me!

So remember how I got to go to a meet and greet yesterday called Hounds at Hazelwild?  Well, they did this thing called lure coursing there, and I was so excited to watch it.  Remember that I've only been retired for three weeks now, and I raced for a long time because I did so well at it. #166RacesCauseImAwesome

The lure coursing was run by Her Majesty's Hounds.  The course was indoors and the area was completely enclosed.  GEGR does not endorse lure coursing.

Everyone laughed at my excitement.  I wanted that little white thing!

Then during the last event, I was able to race with Harmony.

Harmony did her best to keep up but well...I won!  #HappyDance

It was so much fun that I wanted to do it again, but FM said once was enough.  I've retired now and not at the top of my athletic game anymore.  I gave her my sweetest puppy dog eyes, but she still said no.

Shaelee: 11/5 - meet and greet at Hounds at Hazelwild

Guess what I did today!  I went to a meet and greet with Olive and Charger in Fredericksburg!  It was called Hounds at Hazelwild.  The event was a project held by a Senior Girl Scout working on her Gold Award.  Greyhound and sighthound adoptions were promoted.

Roadtrip!  That's Charger on the left, Olive in the middle, and I'm all the way on the right looking out the window.

FM needed someone to help her navigate.

I'm watching all of the activities with Harmony, Trent, Taxi (also available for adoption!), and Olive.

Watching the lure coursing with Copper (FM lasts foster pup FKA Lonnie).

We were all tired on the way home and napped.

Come back tomorrow to check out a couple of videos that FM took.  I loved this meet and greet!

Shaelee: 11/2 - Again FM?

Why are you taking my picture FM? It's bedtime, and I would like to go to sleep. And don't even think about taking away my toy.

xX Shaelee Xx

Shaelee: 10/30 - Excuse me...

Alright FM. Did you really have to disturb me during me pre-bedtime nap?

xX Shaelee Xx

Shaelee: 10/29 - Today wasn't my day

So today wasn't my day to find my furever family. I met a few families but we didn't click. That's okay though. I came back home with my FM. Stay tuned for pictures and pupdates!

Now I'm going to take a nap with Zoey.

xX Shaelee Xx

Shaelee: 10/28 - Tomorrow may be my day!

It's adoptathon day tomorrow! Maybe I'll meet my furever family there! FM said I've got to show everyone my sweet puppy dog eyes. It's bound to win someone over! In the meantime, I'm going to lay here and dream of my furever family.

MY NAME IS SHAELEE.
LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME.

Q. What is your full name?

A. Shady Shaelee.  I haven't heard it much since retiring.  FM doesn't even use it to get my attention.

Q. How old are you?

A. 5 years, 6 months, but I act like I'm a toddler.

My pouty face when FM wouldn't share her food.

Q. What's your height and weight?

A. Approximately 28 inches from the ground to the top of my head for my height and I weigh about 62 pounds.

Q. What's your occupation?

A. Retired racing dog, but I ran in 166 races before I retired.  For 26 of those races, I came in 1st place!  My very last race was the day before I retired.

Q. What's your income?

A. I'm retired so I rely on my good looks and sweet puppy dog eyes to keep me in dog treats, comfy beds, and regular meals.

Q. Do you have any children?

A. No kids for me.  After I retired, I wasn't chosen to be a brood mom.

Q. Any medical issues?

A. Nope.

Q. Do you have any tattoos?

A. I have tattoos in my ears, and I was feeling pretty special about them.  FM hurt my feelings not long ago, though.  She said that all of the former racing greyhounds have tattoos.  #WayToBurstMyBubbleFM #ButIAmSpecial

Q. Who are your parents?

A. Trent Lee and Craigie Memory

Q. Do you have any siblings?

A. I have 6 brothers and sisters, and 4 half siblings.

Note: You can check out my pedigree at http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=1928338.

Q. What's your marital status?

A. Single but I don't have time for the boys.  Please don't try to match me up with anyone.  I just want to be footloose and fancy-free! #AllTheSingleLadies

Q. What is the first thing people notice about you?

A. My sweet, adorable face.  No one can resist me.
Note from FM: You don't stand a chance resisting her because she's all up in everyone's business.

Q. What are your three best life skills?

A. My ability to help mom carry the dog food when she has a bag of it in her hands, getting everyone's attention with my bouncy little self, and my love of all people big and small.

Q. What's the most important thing you're looking for in a family?

A.  I would love to have someone or some people to love me, spoil me, play with me, feed me, walk me, and did I mention love me? I'm all about kisses, hugs, and if you don't mind, snuggling with you on the couch.  I also travel really well so let's talk road trips!

Q. How do you typically spend your leisure time?

A. Sleeping, pulling out and playing with all of the toys that squeak, and helping FM wherever she goes.

Q. Do you have any issues with sharing?

A. I'm okay, but still learning.  Olive has been really nice and lets me have the toys when I come up and ask for them.

So enough about me. Can you tell me about you? I'd love to find my furever family this weekend!
