Philly here! Yesterday was Memorial Day and my fosters said it was a holiday, so I decided to take a morning nap. F-dad said I looked like I was trying to fight my nap like a human kid, but I just have a process. You can see here my three steps.

Philly (Philly Special): 5/23 - Redecorating
Philly here! My foster dads said I should make myself comfortable, so I decided to redecorate the place. Shifting this pillow from the sofa really gives a nice punch of color to my bed and gives my head some extra lift, don’t you think?
Philly (Philly Special): 5/20 - Greyt Face Masks
My foster dads thought I just was playing with all the bath mats but I see them wearing face masks and was trying to make one for myself. I’m a very responsible boy you see...I just couldn’t quite get it thrown around my head just right so I had to keep trying.
Philly (Philly Special): 5/19 - Grass Harps
Philly here! This weekend I learned the joys of laying in the grass. You should try it sometime like foster Dad and I. Dad said “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” I just like the way it feels.
Philly (Philly Special): 5/18 - Supervisory Powers
Philly here! I’ve been hearing my foster family talking about this activity called work. I know I’m retired but decided I could do something. So I quickly picked up the job of supervising foster dad's office work. My fuzzy rat is my minion and we squeak to let foster dad know when he needs to end his meetings.
Since I did so well supervising office work, I figured they’d really like me to supervise weekend chores too! Yesterday I kept foster dad on task planting the vegetable garden. But he just didn’t understand my expectation for a Milk Bone tree so we will keep working on his performance issues.
Philly (Philly Special): 5/15 - Who Am I Walking Today?
Philly here! My foster family is pretty cool, but they need to be reminded now and again of the timing of their needs. So I have learned to help them out and get their leash and bring to them so I can take them for their walks. It’s a good thing I’ve come to live with them...they’d probably forget and only walk a couple times a day without my help.
Philly (Philly Special): 5/13 - Treasure at the Top of the Stairs
Foster dads have been telling me that I could climb the stairs. I admit I was a bit scared...that’s a long way to go. But they insisted since my name is Philly and the famous Rocky claimed the stairs in Philly, that I could do it.
Well with foster sister Esme’s guidance, showing me how she climbs a few times, and several treats along the way I was bale to do it. But they forgot to tell me they keep a real treasure trove of toys in their bedroom. If I had known, especially about the squeaky snake, I’d have climbed the first day! I’m a real pro now going up and down so I can take toys where I want.

Philly (Philly Special): 5/10 - A Mother’s Day Fairytale
For Mother’s Day, Foster Philly has a fairy tale.
There once was a young orphan who came to a new castle. His name was Philly even though he was from the West land of Virginia. He was greeted by a loving beautiful queen, Queen Esme, who was old enough to be his mom or grandma. She wasn’t effusive in her love but she watched over him and showed she cared. She was beautiful and wore a tiara. One day as she was high on her dais, the castle was attacked by an evil wizards minions - the appalling Opposum, a rascally Rooster and the fiersome Fox. As the queen fainted in the light of their presence the young man defended her honor and fought with incredible speed and dexterity. There were many villains to conquer and they were loud and nefarious. They kept resurrecting after he tossed them in circles and attacked with his sharp mouth swords. The battle ensued for hours until at last he defeated them for the evil queen who was like his mother. And they both rested safe in their companionship and love. The End.

Philly (Philly Special): 5/8 - To Roach or Not to Roach
Hi everyone out in internet land. My foster sister Esme has been real kind to show me how to roach. For days I’ve tried but I just fall over the other way. Foster Dad gave me an assist though with this bed, and he even put it by the door so I can get some sun on my belly. I will get the hang of this Roaching thing soon, mark my words. Now to keep practicing...

Philly (Philly Special): 5/7 - Wet Yard Zoomies
Hey all my potential new forever moms and dads (brothers and sisters too) out there! Thought you’d be proud of my playful yard zoomies, even in the wet grass. It’s been raining all night and morning so I took the break to get out and enjoy. - Philly
Philly (Philly Special): 5/4 - Fozzie Bear
Who knows The Muppets?!? I’m loving Fozzie Bear. He was introduced to me today. Sometimes he’s very talkative but sometimes I have to encourage him - but he’s always very entertaining. I’ve been bringing him everywhere I go because I love this guy. My foster dad says I’m a bit of a muppet myself. Which muppet do you think I could be?
Waka waka everyone!
Philly (Philly Special): 5/3 - Sunday pleasures
Hi everyone. I’m Philly. My foster dad posted for me yesterday but let me talk today.
It’s my second day of retirement with my foster family. A guy could get used to Sunday’s.
Started the morning listening to the piano and songs from this little know group called The Beatles. I really enjoy music.
And then this afternoon we ran in the yard. And I found that even laying on the deck getting sun is nice.
And then my foster dad and I went to cook lunch and he told me about stress mats. Well sitting down certainly helps relieve stress. Foster dad said I put the “Cheese Wiz” in the Philly Special.
Then he moved my favorite bed next to the door so I could enjoy the afternoon sun inside. Overall retirement is pretty good and I’m really starting to like Sunday’s.

Philly (Philly Special): 5/2 - What's this Retirement Thing?
Philly joined us from the track last night...and he’s already starting to learn his new job as a retiree. Nice walks through town for people to adore you (even if it is from 6’ away), early morning naps and this incredibly wonderful thing - toys! Philly is super loving and fell asleep in foster Daddy’s arms as he was being petted. Next skill - roaching and mid morning naps.
