Morning post-breaky, cozy time is so relaxing. As long as I am near my humans and my foster siblings, I am a happy boy.

Rusty (Rusty Nail): 9/11 - Daily Naps

Who doesn’t love a good nap?

 I try to fit at least 10 naps into my busy schedule every day. I like to nap on all kinds of beds: round beds, rectangular beds, Kuranda beds where I can hang my head over the side for maximus relaximus, and in the sunshine on our porch. I nap upside down, right side up, in a little ball, hoarding my toys, and all stretched out. I’m not picky, I just love naps.

 

I also love to snuggle with my humans.

So if you’re looking for a little boy with wicked napping prowess, I hit the nail on the head. 😉

Guys, do you have a front porch? I do!

I love that my foster family has a front porch where I can awkwardly stare at people and dogs and kids who go by. There is a park down the street, so I get to watch the activity all day long.

The best part, though, is when we go on walks to the park too!

I have learned so much in retirement!

I now know that my favorite room is the kitchen and that I like lots of different food. Like peanut butter 🥜, cheese 🧀, yogurt 🍦, watermelon 🍉, and especially bananas 🍌!

 I also learned how to relax, like this:

And I love leisurely walks!

Most importantly, I learned to appreciate an excellent cuddle nap.

Hello beautiful beings. 

Like my namesake, I am a fastener. I attach myself to my people and trust them with my big snuggly heart. 

So if you’re looking for a shy goofball who sticks to you like peanut butter and also looooooves to eat peanut butter, then I’m your guy!

I may be small, but I am a lovable piece of canine hardware.

Rusty (Rusty Nail): 7/9 - Peanut Butter!

Holy WOW guys!

🤩 Have you ever had peanut butter? 🤩 

It is the most amazingly sticky and delicious treat and I love it SO much! I get so excited about it that I do a little excited dance and then go into a comatose state of peanut butter zen afterwards (see photo evidence below).

When we hang out, I’ll share some of my nose leftovers with you, because I’m such a generous guy.

✨ Hello everybody! ✨ 

One of my favorite things (which I always make time for in my busy schedule of eating, napping, smelling, & following Foster Mom around the house) is enjoying the outdoors!

🌳 🪴 ☀️ 

I love looking out the front door, exploring the back yard, snoozing in the sun, going for walks, helping my Foster Parents take care of their garden, and greeting everyone who walks past the house (sometimes with a bark if I am feeling extra welcoming). 😜 

I would love a forever home with an outdoor space for me to “enjoy” (take over as my own 😉) and a family who doesn’t mind that I want to be close by and helpful for every task.

I am VERY curious and helpful. 👍🏼

I figured out something very important this week, friends: I love naps!

I can make myself comfortable almost anywhere. 😉

Rusty (RS Rusty Nail): 6/14 - Getting Comfortable!

Hey friends! 👋🏼  I am learning so much about being a house dog. I’m getting better about knowing the rules and being comfortable with my foster humans and siblings. I like to approach new people and situations on my own terms, and sometimes my own terms mean that my foster humans have to be extra patient with me. I have recently discovered that I love to cuddle!

I like to nap in the sun on the front porch and check out everyone who walks by. I like to awkwardly stare at people and dogs, but weird things like bicycles, skateboards, and tiny humans in wagons make me a bit nervous. I especially love the FedEx man because he gives me treats. That’s the way to my heart!

🎉 GUYS! I'm 3! 🎉 

Yesterday, I turned into a mature 3 year old boy 😉 who loves snuggles, following my foster humans everywhere, and eating all the delicious foods (like bananas, apples, hot dogs, cheese, yogurt…  pretty much everything except broccoli 😑).

I had a great day and I hope you have one today too!

Rusty (Rusty Nail): 5/21 - Settling In

Hi there! Rusty Nail here! Happy Fri-yay! 

We went on an excursion to our favorite coffee shop today and I got to take a nap in the shade with my foster siblings and drink coffee shop water. It was the best. I love spending quality time with my people.

Then we walked through the beautiful park near our house and I met people and other non-greyhound doggos. I was a little bit frightened at first but I’m such a brave boy and worked through my worries. 

I took another nap and celebrated my bravery with a delicious bone. It’s been a great day!
