Lisa (PJ Pinkies Up): 12/21 - Still Searching...

It just wasn't my day.
Hi Friends, Lisa here. Well...I'm back with my foster family this evening. It's okay, though. I know my Forever Family is out there somewhere. I'll just have to wait a little longer to find them. Until then, I get to pester my foster brother some more and cuddle with my foster parents. Don't worry, it won't be all fun and games for me. I'm going to work really hard on my training and my leash manners. I'll be a stair master in no time and have a perfect roach!

Until next time,
Lisa 🐾
Guess what, Foster Bro?
You get to have me around a little while longer.
😁

On the lookout...

Charley (Charley Cheswick): 12/20 - Friday night highlights

Hi All, it’s Charley! It’s been a busy week here, and I’ve been on top of helping my Foster Mom with her work.
Checking for proper dish loading with my Foster Brother. Good job, Mom!,

Bowls, check! Almost ready to start washing...

Supervising is a tough job, but I’m handsome enough to get it done!

Charley out!

Lisa (PJ Pinkies Up): 12/20 - Getting ready for my big day!

On the lookout for my Forever Family
Hi Everyone! Glad you came back for more updates. You'll be happy to know I've been getting ready for my big day tomorrow. My foster parents tell me I'm going to be meeting a lot of nice families tomorrow, and one of them could be MY family!

Hey Foster Bro, I may have been like a
pesky younger sibling...
...But thanks for showing me the ropes!
Since my last post, I've really been settling into house life. I've been playing with all the toys, going for walks, and taking lots of naps. I'm getting better at using the stairs and the TV isn't so scary anymore. I wait patiently for my food at mealtimes and I'm a really good girl during alone time.
Have I mentioned I *LOVE* to eat?
Nothing to see here...Just a food coma.

Forever Family, if you're reading this, I want you to know I am so excited to meet you! I may be retired now, but I'll race into your home and hearts in no time! I'm a playful, spunky, inquisitive pup who loves hanging with my people and having a good time. If you're looking for some excitement and silliness in your life, then I am your girl.

See you soon!
Lisa 🐾

You know you want to boop this snoot!

Dutchess (CET Dutchess): 12/20 - LOVES toys

You'll want the sound on to really get a feel for how much I love my squeaky toys...I'm not sure foster sister Selene is as enthused as I am!

xoxo Dutchess

Dutchess (CET Dutchess): 12/19 - LOVING Retirement

Hello again! Foster mom taught me that Dutchess is a royal title (I'm basically like Kate Middleton, OMG!!!) so I decided to start relaxing in my retirement like royalty.

Is my butt supposed to fit on this thing?? I don't see how.

Waiting for my forever family to continue treating me like royalty!! xoxo Dutchess

Hemi (Mac's Hemi): 12/18 - I came in like a wrecking ball!

That's right. FoMa sez I'm a big galoot and that I'm super strong. When I come in from outside, I don't play around and she sez I come in like a wrecking ball. Glad she doesn't know all the words to the song, cause she's not a very good singer.

Gad! Do I have to wear this jacket? I's so embarrassed!
Anyways, what she means is that I'm a big, strong, HANDSOME, strapping young lad. She sez I'm a gentle giant though cause I like cuddles and pats so much. Not gonna lie...I love snuggling together on the dog bed. I tried to get up and snuggle her on the sofa a couple of times, but apparently it's frowned upon 😔

Prepared to snuggle!
I mostly have the stairs mastered. They puts cookies on the steps and I slowly make my way up crunching along the way. Before I knows it, I'm there and then I'm scared to come back down. FoMa sez I'm a work in progress.

Stairs are hard. Just sayin'. Now I needs to relax!
I been getting along good with the cat. She's not afraid of me any more. She lets me take quick sniffs of her bottom, but I mighta got a little too enthusiastic yesterday and she hissed and swatted at me. Geez! I thought everyone liked getting their bottom sniffed. Cats...they're a mystery best left unsolved.

Well, that's all the updates I have for now! Oooooh...I almost forgot to tell you how much I love Christmas trees!! There may or may not have been a couple of incidents of theft and unplugging of the lights, but I'm getting the hang of it after lots of "Hemi No!". It's a magical time of the year 😍

Can't wait to see you soon!

Lots of Love,

Hemi
xoxo

Lisa (PJ Pinkies Up): 12/18 - I've been a busy girl!

Hello Friends! Lisa here with a retirement update. I've been really busy and am learning a lot. Here's everything I've been up to since my last post:
  • I've discovered beds and I love to play with toys. I especially like the toys I can chew on. I guess soft toys are okay, too.

  • I like having my belly rubbed and my ears scratched.

  • I'm getting better at climbing up and down the stairs.

  • I've been working on this thing called "alone time". The idea of being alone never crossed my mind since I haven't ever been alone. I thought it would be scary without all my friends around, but it's not so bad. The peace and quiet is great for catching some ZZZs.
Hey Foster Mom, enough with the photos! What does a
pup have to do to get some sleep around here?
  • I'm learning to supervise my foster mom as she goes about her chores. I like to follow her around and keep an eye on what she's doing.
Need a clean up crew? I'm your gal!

  • I'm learning how to follow commands. I know how to go to my bed and how to sit. I also know "kennel up" means I have to go to my crate. I've figured out the best part of learning these commands are all the treats!
I never said my sit was pretty
Well Folks, that's all for now. Time for me to practice my roach, though you'll see I'm quite the natural! Check it out:

Until next time,
Lisa 🐾

Manny (CET Big Man): 12/18 - Learning "stuff"

Hi it’s Manny! The last few days I’ve been learning to do ‘stuff’. Like going for a walk to the pet store to choose a treat. I love going for walks, although I get a little frightened by big noises like cars and buses going by. My foster parents say I’ll get used to it eventually though.

When I’m not out exploring I love to have naps and quiet time. So far the best thing about retirement is having a long nap, then waking up to have a yummy dinner 🍗🦴

Retirement has been great, but it’s not always smooth sailing. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night not sure where I am. My foster sister is a beagle who every now and then walks up stairs when I’m trying to play with her. I can’t do stairs yet so sometimes I feel like she’s avoiding me!

My foster parents say that my forever family will need to be patient, loving, and gentle with me. Plus as excited to see me as I am them at the end of the day. I hope that will be you!

Dutchess (CET Dutchess): 12/18 - Checking in!

Hi hi hi hi hi! My name is Dutchess!!

How does foster mom describe me? Laid back, very loving, super smart, a bit quirky (who isn't!?), and a little bit of a klutz...oh, and beautiful of course!!

I have been living in the city (Baltimore) with my foster sister Selene (greyhound), and my foster brother Milo (cat). I love them both, but I also enjoy my alone time.

I love my toys and cannot get enough of them!

Even when I had to wear a cone, it couldn't stop me!

I'm great on the leash in the city and also love going up and down stairs (it took a little bit for me to learn, but I'm a fast learner!).

Foster mom also discovered that I love.....celery!!

I'm an easy-going cutie and I cannot wait to meet my forever home!!

xoxo Dutchess

Lisa (PJ Pinkies Up): 12/15 - Hi! I'm new here!

Hello Friends! My name is PJ Pinkies Up, but everyone knows me as Lisa. I know, I know, you're wondering how you get Lisa from PJ Pinkies Up. Well, truth be told, I have no idea, so I just go with it. I used to race in West Virginia, but now I'm retired. I made the trip from the track to the nice folks at Greyt Expectations in Maryland just this past weekend, and now I'm at my foster home in Virginia. It's been a busy couple of days, but now the real work begins: Learning about retirement!
Here are some photos my foster mom took of our looong road trip:

Day 1: On the road with my fellow retirees.
The adventure begins!
Hey, Foster Mom...you got any snacks?

Day 2: Another stop!? Why aren't we there yet?
Still not home...Guess I'd better catch up on some ZZZs
As you can see, I spent too much time cooped up in that van. I'm not used to so much travel, but I guess that's what us retired folk do so I'll probably have to get used to it at some point. It's a good thing my foster parents decided to take me on a walk with my foster brother afterwards because these speed sticks (legs) needed a good stretch!

My first sunset stroll by the beach!
I think I could get used to this.
Once we got to my foster home I got to spend some time with my foster brother. We look a lot alike, and are even related. He says he's been retired a while and can show me the ropes. I'm still young and know I have lots to learn, so it's a good thing I'm not doing all this alone.

CTRL+C, CTRL+V
That's me with my foster brother.
We're like twins!

Getting some good advice about retirement

Well that's all for now. It's time for my nap on these comfy things I've just discovered called "beds". I'll catch you all next time with more photos of all the new things I'm learning!
