MJ Cream - MJ all day

Hey all!  MJ here to tell you it has been soooo hot lately!  I gathered all my colleagues together to have a meeting about how to beat the heat.  The general consensus was to just sleep on it...so...I...did!

I still get to run and play a little in the FoFam’s backyard for a few minutes, but my walks have been limited.  FoPa tells me that we are going to the pet store today to get me some food and to meet other amanalls and peoples.  He also says the place will have air condition so that’s cool (ha!)  If I’m a good boy, maybe I’ll get my very own toy.  I love toys and my FoPeeps have been very kind to let me barrey theirs.  Anyway...I’ll update you on the pet store x-ka-paid and hopefully have a new squeaky to show off!  I know my furever family is out there and I can’t wait till you can take me out and show me off to peoples and amanalls!  I’ll be a greyt ambassador for our family and make you so proud!

LastoftheMohican July 21st

Hi Everyone!

It's Moe! I told Foster Mama "Hurry UP and blog!!! My new family needs to know how I'm doing!"

I had a busy week (sniff...we won't talk about what they did to my "parts"), but I'm adjusting well. Foster Mama says I'm "rezileeant" whatever that's supposed to mean! Anyways, I arrived at my new foster home on Thursday and I was really shy and quiet at first, but now I OWN that place. It didn't take me long to learn that living in a house is a pretty sweet gig! I'm so good at it that Foster Mama took off my belly band! I haven't had any accidents in the house! She sez I'm a really good boy and smart!

My first day with Foster Mom...I was feeling shy

My foster home has two greyhounds and a cat! I get along really well with the hounds, but the cat is a weirdo, so I just ignore her. Last night I got to meet some new friends and their "mini-weiner" dog! Whoa...that little thing was alllllllll over the place, but I just ignored her and she went and tortured the other two hounds instead. As for the peoples....oh my gosh! I loved them! I went to the door and said "where you been all my life?" I leaned on them, got pats from them, and showed them to the living room. They's my new friends for life.

I'm working hard at learning new things round here. I've been going for walks every day. I pull a little on the leash at first cause I'm SO EXCITED, but then I relax and am a good. The stairs...welllllll...maybe I'm struggling a bit with that. I'm real good at going down them, but going up them is kinda hard! Foster Mama sez we're gonna work on that this week.

Foster Papa sez I'm a big, strong, boy! He calls me "Squinty-eyed Moe" and sez I probably won all my races "by a nose" cause I have a long one! RUDE!!! Foster Mama sez I'm beautiful and have the BEST personality...not too clingy...just lovey-dovey.

You don't think this photo makes my nose look big do you?
Well, I gotta go and get my beauty sleep. I can't wait to meet you next week!!!!

Love,

Moe

Meet Marc.

Hi I’m Marc! My racing name was ‘MJ Flying Narc’. I’ve come up to my foster family from Florida. Guess what? It’s exactly one month today since my last race! I think this whole retirement thing is going to work out fine as I’m already really good at it.

I’m very much a people-hound. I’ll come straight in for cuddles and scratches. If you stand still for too long I’ll start leaning on you. There’s only one place for me to sleep, and that’s near where you’re sleeping!

I’m really good with my foster sister who is a little beagle mix. I think I would do just fine in a forever home that has another dog, but would probably be ok as a solo dog. As long as I was getting lots of attention!

I do need a bit of practice on the leash and my foster people said I’m a little bit of a handful. I’m just a bit excited I guess! I’ll learn quickly I’m sure. I do like walks, but I think I’m most happy relaxing and napping.

Maybe I’m the perfect addition to your family?

MJ Cream - No shirt, no shoes, no problem!

Hey fans!  MJ here for for the win!  I just wanted everyone to know that I had an awesome outing today!  I went to the beach by the lake near the Fo-fam’s place.  It was a very pretty day but man, was it hot and humid!  It wasn’t too hot for my feet, though...Fo-pa checked to make sure, plus I walked in the grass most of the way.  At the beach, I saw a bunch of ducks!  I watched very intently as they swam away.  I don’t know why the didn’t want to hang out with me...I only wanted to see if they squeezed like the toys I play with, LOL!  On the walk back home, a couple of neighbors had their lawn sprinklers on and me and Fo-ma ran through them!  What fun!  And refreshing too!  This place is pretty cool here but I know it can’t possibly compare to my furever home...where ever that may be.  I can’t wait to meet my furever family and take fun excursions with you!  Until then, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the hound!

Peg Rio: 7/14 - Landing and Layover

Hello friends,

My name is Peg Rio, but you can call me Rio!   I arrived from Florida yesterday and wow, I've been a busy girl!   I got to VA early Saturday morning, then took a trip in a van to Maryland, where I got a spa treatment: bath, groom, microchip... and then I got to meet two little dogs and a cat!  I was gentle and polite with all three of them.  When my spa day was over, I got back in the van and took a trip back to VA where I spent the night with my temporary foster mom before going to my regular foster home on Sunday.

At my temp foster home, I had several greyhound foster siblings, and a little miniature schnauzer foster sibling; he is an older fellow, so foster mom said I needed to be gentle, and I did wonderfully with him.

I'm starting to learn the ins and out of retired life.   I've been practicing stairs, and have just about got going down 100% on my own.  Going up takes a little help and encouragement from foster mom, but I'll have it down in no time!   I LOVE mealtimes, and am learning to be patient and wait for my bowl. Right now, I like spending time in my crate; it's familiar and comforting to me.

Snoozing 💜

I've also started discovering the joys of squeaky toys.  My favorite so far has been this squeaky snake, so I took him in my crate with me to keep me company.  If you ended up adopting me and wanted to know how to get one, here's a little help (hint hint) Invincibles Sqeaky Snake

Hello orange snake.  Thanks for being a friend.

When I'm out of the crate, I like to stay close to foster mom and keep an eye on her; after all, every job needs a good supervisor!

Let me know if you need some help with that foster mama.

We also took a little walk in the neighborhood Sunday morning; I'm doing well with my leash manners.  There was so much to sniff!  We met three non-greyhound dogs on our walk!  I wasn't quite sure what they were at first; they didn't look a thing like me, but they were really nice!

I had a nice layover at temp foster mama's house, and she said I'm so sweet, she's really going to miss me, but today, I hopped back in the van and we took a short trip to meet my new foster mom, where I'll continue to learn all about retirement.  I'm a great traveler!

Heading to my next big adventure!

Hope you'll check back in and see how I'm progressing!

Until next time,

Rio 🐾

MJ Cream - Greetings from the Pack

Hey there everyone!  I’m MJ Cream.  Everyone just calls me MJ though.  I guess I got the name Cream because I’m the same color as a cup of coffee...with...wait for it...CREAM!  Ha ha!  I joke, but seriously I just wanted to check in on the old blog and let you all know that I’m looking for a furever home.  I feel I’m an excellent choice for family expansion.  I’m very snuggly and quiet.  I love to play with my toys and just do dog stuff.  I’ll be 4 in October so you know I’ve got the house training thing down pretty good by now.  I really hope some nice folks out there will consider me to join your pack!  You won’t be disappointed!  I’m MJ Cream and I approved this message!

Girly 7/5/19

Girly was totally awesome with the thunderstorms and fireworks last night.  We didn’t take her out to watch the fireworks but we could hear them in the house and she slept thru them all.  She wasn’t a fan of having to go potty in the rain though.  She’s super sweet, affectionate and kissy.  She is enjoying her toys, she needs lots of toys and she’s self entertaining which is so much fun to watch.
