LOVE! 3/29/18

The name says it all!

So, now that I'm settling into retirement life, I thought I'd let you know what I think of it!
After a longggg ride from the track, we all got pampered:
spa baths, pedicures, ear massages and lots and lots of petting.
Then we were ready to go to the places we're staying
until we find our forever place in someone's heart.
I was told that I'm a perfect passenger!

The final trip of a long 1st day of retirement.

Then we arrived at the foster's home and I got to meet a whole crew of dogs.
They all welcomed me and I love hanging out with them!
There were even some of those little fluffy cats too - I don't mind them at all.
Of course, I really like the people a whole lot so even if you don't have another dog,
I wouldn't mind as long as we can be best friends!
Check out those ears!  Started making them wonder if I knew how to perk them up!

I was definitely a little nervous at first and was panting a lot.
But once I figured things out, I settled right in.
Ugh!  I think I blinked!
Now that's more like it!

So, for now I'll leave you with that last picture of my gorgeous eyes and almost smile.
(I'm working on that and pretty sure I'll be a huge smiler one day!)

Better mark me down, I'm going to make someone smile really big!

Love,
Love
(ha!)

Selene Storm 3/26/2018

Hi There!! My name is Selene and for some reason people keep calling me a cow dog!?

I'm three days into my retirement and I am LOVING the retirement life. I found this big comfy bed in my foster mom's house and sometimes, I get so comfy, that I won't even get up when foster mom wants to take me outside! And even when my foster family has friends over, I just like to lounge out in my crate or on my bed and relax.
I'm so comfy, I don't wanna leave my crate!
This thing is like a fluffy cloud!
And then we go to the outside and it is INCREDIBLE! Foster mom lives in a city called Baltimore, and there are so many people and cars and dogs to watch! I just love seeing all the action and sometimes people even come say hi to me and give me nice pets on the head. Sometimes the little dogs bark at me, but I don't mind - who knew my species could be so small!?

I've also found lots of fun toys inside my foster mom's house. Apparently, I took the cat's toy and that wasn't allowed, but I just couldn't help it - playing is so fun! The cat is a little scary but I just give him his space.
Look how fun this little mouse is to chew. Too bad foster mom took it away!
Luckily, I found the other dog's toys (she's my senior old lady friend) and I'm allowed to play with those. It's so fun to make them squeak!
This dog toy is so fun, it's got me flipping upside down!
Snuggling with dog toys can be nice, too!

Well, that's all for now. I've got some lounging to do.

Volando Olvera - 3/23 - Snowfall and Toy Time

Hi everyone:

Dog's head from the back
Check out my cute ears!
Thought you would all want to know what I've been up to during this wintery first week of spring. Even though it's cold, I really like the snow. Mr G and I went outside to play in it. I'm not afraid of the big loud plow trucks or the little plow that clears the bikepath either, event when it's close to me.

When it's too cold and blustery to go outside, I stay in and play with my toys. You can see my video below.

Bye for now. Talk soon,
Olvera

Volando Olvera - 3/20 - Mental Exercise

Hi everyone:

photo of dog's face
I reminded L that I promised you a video of my practicing my "touch" command and then she never delivered, so she made one today. Plus, she says that mental exercise is perfect for a day like today because the weather is so yucky outside.

Plus I thought I would share a photo of me on my bed cuddling with L as a bonus.

Hope you're safe and dry inside like I am. Enjoy my video!

Talk soon,
Olvera

Volando Olvera - 3/16 - Earning My Wings!

Hi everyone:

I've been having so many adventures recently. It's been sunnier, so we've gone on lots of long walks, which I like. I'm getting pretty good at walking on a leash now, even when squirrels and rabbits run by, although I saw deer for the first time today. They were exciting!

I'm also getting used to being in the house. I like chewing on my Kong or other toys. I also am getting along really well with Miss Thing and Mr. G. I don't have a lot of new things to report, but I thought you'd like to see some photos of what I've been up to.

Talk soon!

Volando Olvera - 3/10 - Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi everyone:

dog lying on colorful bed with toy
Toys are fun!
I hope you've had a good week! I've been busy since we last checked in. I've gone on several long walks and also went to the pet supply store. Have I told you before how well I ride in the car? I'm really good, although sometimes Mr. G hogs all the space. I also like to meet new people when I'm out and about.

I'm also getting the hang of this being around the house thing. I like to explore different parts of the house to see what's happening. I've just discovered that there are toys around here, which are lots of fun.

L is also starting to teach me some cues to follow. We're starting with "touch," which is when I touch L's hand and then I get a treat. L took a video of me, but it's not very good, so she promises she'll take another one soon. I want all of you to see how smart I am.

I almost forgot one of the most exciting things that happened this week — I turned two years old on March 8! I had a fun time, but I'm really looking forward to celebrating my third birthday in my forever home. Maybe it's with you? If you're interested, don't forget to visit greytexpectations.org and fill out an application!

Volando Olvera - 3/3 - Layover

Hi all:

I'm learning a lot during my time in my foster home, but L and J have told me that this is only a layover on my way to my furever home.

Since that's the case, I want you to know a couple things about me.
  • I'm a puppy! I turn two next week.
  • I love learning new things and exploring new places.
  • I've gone on some adventures and done really well.
  • I love to greet people I know with giant tail wags.
If I sound like the dog for you, won't you consider applying to adopt me?

Thanks!
Lennea

Kenya 3/1 - Part 2

Check it out, what a good girl!

Kenya - 3/1

Hi all, It's been a while since I posted as Foster Mom (FM) been super busy with a big project at work that she was stressed about.  FM said snuggles and hugs from me were the best thing after a crazy day.  She told me that I am just the best foster girl a FM could wish for.  Here is some information about my foster life so far:
I get along greyt with my foster bothers.  I am very well-mannered in my crate when FM is at work and comes home.  I wait quietly to be let out,  though my foster brothers make quite a ruckus.  They leave me alone sometimes for my alone time training and occasionally I cry for a minute, but sometimes not at all.  I love the big teens in the house and the daddy, they all give me lots of pets.   I had my teeth brushed the other day and I didn't mind it a bit.  My foster brothers throw around these things called toys, I haven't tried it yet as I’d rather be right next to FM, but they tell me it’s fun.  I sleep quietly through the night if I have someone in the room with me. I can go up and down the stairs in my foster home, no problems there! I follow foster mom around so I can always be close by and she says I am a Velcro dog, but she does give me tons of hugs and treats, so why not?
I am inquisitive and like to know what’s going on.  I am learning the down command and FM says I do it way better than my foster brothers.  I do a little bouncy jump when I get excited so FM turns around and ignores me until I calm down, which happens pretty quickly once I know what she wants.  I listen well and follow the house rules, though I do like to sniff counters and have been known to put my paws up there when there is something yummy smelling around.  When that happens FM says “Ah Ah” and lets me know it is not okay with her voice. I haven't done the counter thing in a while so I am trying my best on that one, though I may need reminding on the counters in a new furever home.  They have this big box that lights up and makes sounds which they call a TV. To be honest, that TV thing sort of makes me nervous.  I am getting used to it, but right now I like to stay away from that TV. I am a good walker. FM says I do weave a bit on the leash, but that's getting better every day too.  No accidents in the house at all since coming to stay here.  So that is my Kenya update for now.  I keep learning new things and will work on some of the old things so I will be perfect for my new furever family, though FM thinks I am pretty perfect already!  So that's my update for now.  Don't I sound like I would be Greyt for your family #RestingUp4FureverHome  #RetirementisGreyt  #dontshopadopt  #Kenyastories

Carina ~ 3/1/18

Hiya Friends!

Yup, looks like foster lady is staying on track with blogs
(get it ... "on track" ... which I'm not on anymore because it's RETIREMENT TIME for me!)

So, yesterday's antics brought lots of laughs.
Foster lady worked late and we were just hanging with the foster guy and boy.
We went outside after our dinner and heard foster lady pull in the driveway.
We were all soooo excited to see her that we couldn't wait to come in.
So, when we did, we all ran right downstairs to tell her how much we missed her!
And, when we went down, we did it in order "Small, Medium, Large" (aka Grande - lol!).
They were laughing at us and were actually able to get pics of us even staying in order.
(I'm the one right in front!)

So, I promise that if you choose me to retire in your family,
I will always be excited when you get home and give lots of love and kisses!
(I'll just ask for some pettin' in return).

Excited for my forever home,
Carina

Pad Lock 3/1

My foster Mom has been really bad about keeping my Blog up dated. Here a few things that have been going on. I love looking in the mirrors. I have to look on the other side of the door to make sure there isn't another me. I love the smell of toothpaste . I can now jump in the van (if I want too). My foster brother and I are best buds. I was really worried the other day when I couldn't find him. I love this big  floor chair Kenya and I take turns with it.I love putting my head on the bed in the morning to wake Mom up. I know the word NO and very good boy. I'm just a very Happy boy. I fit in here very well and love being here.
Well maybe I will find my for ever home this weekend.
